A poem
by Julie Danelski

Soaring ever higher on rumpled wings
Roaring of righteousness wretchedly
Casting its ferocity 'or the realm
The dragon arrives to devour

Bravely poised with potent swords
Knights pass majestically
pondering destruction of the dragon so great
pushing him into history

Why the cruelty of the sport?
To break a line of natures begotten kings
Silence whispers over the land
wind whistling through the trees

Legends lost and pages tossed
Memories only survive
To Roar and flutter on rumpled wings
If the wretched dragon would have survived.
